Petro-chemical

Hydrocarbon-contaminated soil and water are the traditional bioremediation projects.

We have microbes that are effective in treating hydrocarbon and PAH soil contamination.
We can also remediate the more difficult oil-sludge pits and tank bottoms.

Many chemical plants also have organic compounds in their waste water streams. However, it's the other chemicals in the waste water that makes these streams difficult to treat with biological methods. Our microbes outperform other microbes in these situations due to:

  • An effective temperature range from just above freezing to 130° F (55° C)
  • An effective pH range from 4 to 12
  • Most heavy metals are non-toxic to our microbes
  • Resistance to salinity and chlorinated compounds

The case study looks at ammonia, amine, and TSS reduction in a chemical plant waste water system.
