Why Are Our Microbes So Effective? Not all microbes are created equal. Years of research and full scale application have proven our microbes to be superior to those occurring naturally in your pond. Working temperatures from just above freezing to 130°F (55°C) and a pH range from 4 to 12+ allow our microbes to perform in extreme conditions where other microbes would simply die. We start with pure cultures that we know will do specific tasks in breaking down certain contaminants in your waste water. By blending together an effective team of microbes, specific to your waste water stream, combined with certain nutrients to stimulate initial growth of the culture, treatment can be very effective. A proprietary freeze-drying process provides our finished microbe/nutrient blends with a long shelf life compared to liquid products. Are These Microbes Safe For The Environment? All of our microbes are classified as ATCC (American Type Culture Collection) Class 1 North American indigenous organisms, which are naturally occurring, non-pathogenic (will not cause disease), and non-opportunistic (will not cause disease in a compromised host). Toxicity tests on paper mill and chemical plant effluent show 100% survivability of fish and other organisms in non-diluted water treated by our microbes. What Are Facultative Microbes? Our facultative blend of microbes will work in aerobic (oxygen present) and anaerobic (no oxygen) conditions. Aerobic conditions allow the microbes to multiply at faster rates, thus causing a more rapid degradation of contaminants than anaerobic conditions. The bottom of a pond is generally a low oxygen environment where anaerobic microbes are necessary to degrade accumulated sludge. Our true facultative blend will also consume its own excess biomass thus eliminating secondary sludge accumulation. |
